Wembley Stadium Contract

Phoenix Fabrications, following intense design and planning meetings manufactured and constructed the perimeter aluminium bullnose fascias, soffit panels and guttering for the new Wembley Stadium in North London.

The project was completed early on in 2007 and was worth in excess of £1 million to Phoenix.

Working together with our client and the main contractor Phoenix was able to offer a full range of taylor made bespoke solutions overcoming the specific technical problems relating to our part of this ambitious iconic design.

Over 8000m² of acoustic liner trays were fabricated and assembled offsite at our works and then delivered to site as one single unit including the insulation and weatherproofing finish, therby minimising site labour time.

The guttering was manufactured from aluminium with a bonded PVC membrane on the weatherface supplied by Fatra.  Over 3000m² of guttering was installed which included the runs on the moving roofs.  Phoenix also helped design and manufactured the 4 giant welded aluminium outlets, each unit being over 5 metres long, 2 metres wide and 2 metres deep.

Both the internal and external bullnose were manufactured by Phoenix with a unique installation design allowing the contractor to fit the bullnoses from within the building offering a major benefit as there was no external access required to install.

All in all Phoenix delivered the gutters, bullnoses and insulated panels for a major contract and significantly added value to the overall project with its unique approach combining manufacturing, design and installation.
